  • The WWE is not interested in bringing back the team of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, a report claims
  • FTR went to AEW after being released in April 2020
  • Having them back on WWE makes little sense after how they left the company

Nearly two years after being released from the WWE, the tag team of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood have been linked to a return from the WWE, but that seems to be a pipe dream, according to a report.

Steve Carrier of Ringside News cited unnamed sources as saying that the top-tier pro wrestling company has no interest in them. International Business Times could not independently verify this information.

“We were told that WWE has NO INTEREST in bringing back FTR. They tried to get back ‘through Edge,’ but there is no interest ... and ‘they are seen as mid-carders who just complain, both internally and to the media’,” he wrote in a Twitter post.

Wheeler and Harwood, then performing as "The Revival," were officially released by the WWE in April 2020 after months of tension about how they were being booked on TV.

The pair, now going by the name of “FTR,” then went to rival company All Elite Wrestling (AEW) shortly thereafter and found success by winning the promotion’s tag team titles at AEW All Out 2020, making them the first tag team to win the tag titles in both WWE and AEW.

Last week, it was reported that the WWE was discussing internally the idea of bringing back the pair, with supposed offers worth $850,000 each. However, Carrier’s latest update may have shot down any possibility of that happening.

The outlet also added some more details as to why the WWE is shying away from the pair, including Wheeler being regarded as the worst of the two.

“They are seen as mid-carders who just complain, both internally and to the media, and they’re not seen as appealing to a worldwide audience past the hardcores who are too busy giving star ratings for matches,” the outlet claimed.

With how stacked the AEW roster became in the last two years, FTR hoping to come back to the WWE is understandable since there are fewer tag teams on the roster.

However, it would make little sense for them to even think of coming back after how tumultuous their departure was.

The WWE does need some help in bolstering their tag team picture, but it can be argued that they are doing well for themselves in recent months and may no longer need to have FTR back on the roster.
