WWE CEO Vince McMahon screwed Kofi Kingston yet again in the last edition of WWE Smackdown, denying the Dreadlocked Dynamo of his chance at Daniel Bryan’s heavyweight title. It was the second time that the WWE top brass has done so, leaving all three New Day members in the dark.

After that, there were hints coming from Big E that it may best for them to quit while they are ahead. Most of that was covered in a previous post although it was likely taken lightly.

However, Xavier Woods has now also aired his piece when he was at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco (GDC). He addressed the latest actions of McMahon but nevertheless said he understood where the WWE chairman was coming from. Overall it seems that the New Day is headed to splitsville, Cageside Seats reported.

Breaking down tag teams is nothing new in the WWE. With so much success, it gives the members the opportunity to see if they can shine in singles matches. Some WWE legends who have succeeded include Shawn Michaels and Brett “The Hitman” Hart – both who went on to capture numerous titles.

As for the New Day breakup, it would be best to take it all lightly for now. Even though Woods did appear at GDC, it remains a platform full of attention. What he did was likely teasing what is part of a script, meaning the New Day may be out but not the actual wrestlers.

The development also shoots down what Woods had revealed back in November to Manila Bulletin Sports. At the time, he said that the New Day is unlikely to break up although he does not mind pursuing a singles title. The only difference is that the journey may end up seeing all of them alone unless they secretly connive to help each other succeed.

In that scenario, they may not be a tag team or a triumvirate but indirectly helping each other out succeed in singles competition.

Of course, it will still be too early to tell. There are still a couple of WWE shows happening in the coming weeks, meaning the Kingston-McMahon drama is far from over. There are different scenarios that could happen, including a potential revolt against the WWE chairman.

A betrayal of sorts could also happen – a familiar scene that often signals the end of WWE tandems. Will it happen in the coming weeks on WWE Smackdown?
