  • Recently Xiaomi unveils the Mi Watch Color with a brand new circular design
  • Xiaomi Mi Watch Color will be available in China on Jan. 3, 2020

Earlier in 2019, Chinese tech company Xiaomi launched its smartwatch based on the Wear OS of Google, which resembles a lot like Apple Watch with its square shape. But, it seems that the company is now testing the public’s reception on a new smartwatch with a round design. Dubbed as Xiaomi Mi Watch Color, the Chinese company silently launched the new smartwatch with details expected to arrive on Jan. 3, 2020, when the watch goes on sale in China.

The first Xiaomi Mi Watch Color teaser does not reveal many details about the upcoming smartwatch, but there are still some details that we can derive from it. The prominent circular display of the new generation Xiaomi watch proves that it dropped the square design of its predecessor. There are a couple of buttons on the right side of the dial and lugs to link the watch bands.

The circular display is 1.39-inch diagonal and has a 454 x 454-pixel resolution. The Xiaomi Mi Watch Color most likely will feature the standard fitness tracking, heart sensor, barometer, and accelerometer. One of the product images teased that the Xiaomi MI Watch Color might be swim-proof.

One of the major selling points of Xiaomi Mi Watch Color is the full range of colorful watch bands, according to GSM Arena. These bands will allow users to change the colors of the groups to match their mood for the day or the kind of occasion they are. Additionally, there are three casing colors available for the Xiaomi Mi Watch Color, which are black, gold, and silver.

An official promotional video of the Xiaomi Mi Watch Color teases these colors, and various watch faces along with its features. At this point, it is not yet sure if the Xiaomi Mi Watch Color will use the Google WatchOS. The current generation Xiaomi Mi Watch has a modified version of the Google Watch OS, and the Mi Watch Color may follow this.

One of the watch’s teasers mentions an all-day battery life, which suggests a better and larger battery capacity. The Xiaomi Watch Color will arrive in China on Jan. 3, 2020. It is not yet clear if the watch will also be available in other regions outside China.
