JT is supposed to be heading out of Genoa City to find new work and make an attempt at reconciling his marriage if possible. However, JT's plans could change after he and Victoria receive alarming new information about their son, Reed, on the Wednesday, Dec. 27 episode of "The Young and the Restless."

JT (Thad Luckinbill) wound up spending Christmas with Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) on the CBS soap after finally confessing to his ex that his marriage to Mac was in a dire situation, as she had left him and taken their kids with her. Though they did enjoy then holiday together, JT is insistent that he has to move on to a new town for a new investigation, and plans to leave. However, as he and Victoria discuss his issues with Mac, Reed will overhear, and learning that the parents he was living with have ended their relationship will shake him to his core.

JT will try to assure his son that it won't mean anything about his relationship with him, and he will believe he has successfully assured Reed that everything is okay. However, it will quickly become apparent to both of the teen's parents that he is far from alright.

Reed, who has taken the car to go out, will wind up at a party with his fellow high schoolers, including Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry), and the news that not only has JT's marriage ended, but he's planning to leave town earlier than Reed expected is clearly affecting him. He will begin to drink excessively, and his actions will cause his girlfriend some concern. Though she'll have no other way to get him back home, Lexie will warn Reed that if he tries to drive after drinking like he has, she will not hesitate to call the police on him.

Reed will still get behind the wheel anyway, and Mattie will keep her promise, causing her boyfriend to be pulled over for a DUI. From there, it won't be long before Victoria and JT hear what happened—and JT's stay in town will likely be extended as a result.

"The Young and the Restless" airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
