Tensions flare at the memorial service for JT (Thad Luckinbill) on the Jan. 10, 2019 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” The actor is pictured in an earlier episode with Victoria (Amelia Heinle).  Sonja Flemming/CBS

The day has come for those who knew JT to honor his memory at a service being held by his son in the home where he ironically died. However, as the women responsible for his death and others all gather for the event, tensions will flare and could cause a major interruption on the Thursday, Jan. 10 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Though she isn’t thrilled with the idea of holding a memorial for her abusive ex in the home where he died, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) agreed to let Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) honor JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) memory with a service to give him closure over his death on the CBS soap. However, as guests continue to arrive at the event, tensions will quickly flare, especially when certain people show up.

“Reed is surprised by Mackenzie,” spoilers for the soap tease.

Mac (Kelly Kruger) will show up for the memorial, which will be a surprise for Reed and Victoria, though she will seem harmless. The true concerns for Victoria will be when her mother, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), who actually murdered JT, arrives, as does Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), who has expressed joy over Victor (Eric Braeden) being arrested for the crime.

While Victoria will wish she can throw Phyllis out, both women will be concerned that Nikki’s state of mind is too fragile for her to still be there, even though she’ll insist. However, as the pressure mounts and gets to her, and she seems poised to confess, the women will need to spring into action to keep that from happening—and destroying all of their lives.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
