He’s sitting in jail for a crime he didn’t commit and is finding that some are having a hard time believing in his innocence. However, Victor may find he has a surprising ally after Jack pays him a visit on the Wednesday, Jan. 9 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Jack (Peter Bergman) and Victor (Eric Braeden) have always been enemies on the CBS soap, and Jack is likely delighted to learn that Victor has been arrested for JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) murder. However, his decision to visit his foe and potentially taunt him over his arrest may not go how either one of them plans.

Though a preview clip for the week’s episodes (see above) shows Jack gleefully informing Victor that he thinks he’s going to go away for a long time, and he won’t hesitate to tell the other man that he’ll happily look out for his family while he rots in prison. However, as Victor explains what the police have that warrants their holding him, Jack may begin to realize that he is actually innocent.

Jack would know from his own personal experience with Victor that he would never be sloppy and leave evidence where it could be found, like the gun and the bloody shirt that were in the stables after they burned. He will realize that Victor could very well be telling the truth about his innocence this time, but also knows that his past will likely influence the police to send him away for this murder. Now, he may have to decide if he will team up with those trying to get him freed or forget everything he knows and let his enemy rot away for a murder he didn’t commit.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
