She was sent to try and convince Adam to return to his former life in Genoa City, and after the planned meet-up falls through, Sharon will be forced to explain the past connection she had to Adam to her current beau on the Wednesday, May 8 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Sharon (Sharon Case) agreed to try and see if her meeting with Adam (Mark Grossman) would convince him to return to Genoa City and get reacquainted with the family he doesn’t remember from before the cabin explosion they thought killed him on the CBS soap. The meeting likely won’t take, however, as Adam may show, but won’t go see Sharon, forcing her to go back to Rey (Jordi Villasousa) and reveal she failed Victor (Eric Braden). However, her boyfriend will be curious as to why Victor felt Sharon was the key to getting Adam back at all, forcing her to bring up her past and reveal everything to him.

“Sharon opens up about her past to Rey,” spoilers reveal.

For the first time, Sharon will reveal how she and Adam had shared an intense romantic history for a long time, and also admit to what she finally learned about herself thanks to his help. She will reflect upon receiving her diagnosis of bipolar disorder after Adam saved her from the ranch when she tried burning it down, even though it is painful to remember.

Thankfully for her, Rey will still accept her even knowing her true story, but he may express concerns about what Adam could mean for her mental state as well. Sharon will assure him there’s nothing to worry about, but she could already be feeling some paranoia—and may be feeling the effects of his existence in her life once again.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
