Zac Efron was recently photographed with an incredibly buff physique on the set of his new movie, "The Iron Claw," where he portrays professional wrestler Kevin Von Erich.

The actor's incredibly buff upper body was featured in a tweet by a sports enthusiast Wednesday, with the caption: "Zac Efron as Kevin Von Erich is sending me to the go***mn moon."

The tweet showed the former "The High School Musical" star wearing a blue towel and a pair of black slides on the set of the movie in Louisiana.

The movie tells the story of a family of 1960s wrestling champions Fritz Adkisson and sons Kevin, David, Michael, Chris, and Kerry, who each took the last name Von Erich when they joined the wrestling world. Fritz lived until 68, but five of his sons died ahead of him, three by suicide.

Efron's bulked-up look was well-liked by Twitter users, who were also pleasantly surprised at the former teen star's transformation for the movie.

"Would love Zac to some get called up as an extra on WWE TV or a quick job match on Dark as some random name," one tweeted.

Another person said, "Complete with the 6 pack gut!" while a social media user wondered, "Did they pump him full of 80s steroids?"

On Monday, Complex also uploaded a photo of Efron training for the role with the wrestler's signature bowl cut, six-pack abs, muscular arms and a deep tan. The image was also praised by fans, with one of them tweeting, "He hasn't looked this good in years."

Efron recently spoke about how his dramatic transformation for his role in the 2017 movie "Baywatch" affected his mental and physical health.

"That Baywatch look, I don't know if that's really attainable," he told Men's Health for its October cover story. "There's just too little water in the skin. Like, it's fake; it looks CGI'd."

He continued, "I started to develop insomnia, and I fell into a pretty bad depression, for a long time. Something about that experience burned me out. I had a really hard time recentering."

Aside from Efron, "The Iron Claw" also stars Jeremy Allen White and Lily James. The movie is directed by Sean Durkin.
