19-year old Disney produced actor-singer Selena Gomez got her first tattoo on Thursday, Feb 21, joining the ranks of young inked pop stars including her boyfriend Justin Bieber. For her first tat, Gomez chose a small heart on her wrist at a tattoo shop in Hollywood.

The news broke quickly, after Jordan Sandoval, an employee at the Hollywood tattoo shop tweeted to his followers, She got a little heart tattoo at Under the Gun, in Hollywood by Louie Gomez, along with a photo of Gomez sporting her new tattoo.

The tweet quickly blew up, increasing Sandoval's followers. The tattoo artist followed up his first tweet, responding to a Gomez fan's questions, writing, @SAMMYY_xo No, she wasn't nervous. She is way cute.

Another tweet from Sandoval read, Phone blew up because I tweeted that @selenagomez got a #tattoo. Her fans get down! Gained some new followers too. Tiny Heart tat. Lol.

Like the Disney princess herself, the tattoo is small, subtle and cute. For her first tattoo Gomez went with something scaled back, unlike her boyfriend Bieber, who is more daring and already has numerous tattoos, including a large portrait of Jesus on his calf.

Previously Gomez had only dared to get a temporary henna tattoo before, which nonetheless fueled rumors among her fans that she had gone under the needle. She also flaunted a non-permanent tattoo of the name Justin on her wrist in 2011, though it was never confirmed that the tattoo was for Bieber.

Bieber was not on hand to support Gomez during her first inking. The young singer confirmed his absence, tweeting from the studio: Another great night in the studio. i love music and creating. working hard on the music. 1 week until the birthday. wild. night world.

Selena Gomez, who was born in Texas in 1992, got her start as a child actor on Barney and Friends. She followed the first role up with minor parts in Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over and TV film walker Texas Ranger: Trial By Fire. In 2007 she was cast in the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place. Recently she has broken out into cinema, starring in the film Monte Carlo, and winning a small cameo in the Muppets film.

Gomez has also embarked on a singing career, as she struggles to break with her childish image, pairing with backing ten pop band, The Scene, and releasing two albums, Kiss & Tell and A Year Without Rain. Her second album debuted at number four on the top 200 billboard chart, selling 66,000 copies.

Gomez is also the spokeswoman for Borden Milk Products, a dairy company based in Dallas, Texas.
