Almost one week after its official launch, Nintendo’s Switch Lite is now included in the Joy-Con Drift Lawsuit with a number of issues found on the list.

Complaints surfaced on Saturday against the one-week-old Nintendo Switch Lite. The number of received rants resulted in the inclusion of Lite to the Joy-Con Drift Lawsuit.

Joy-Con Drift Lawsuit Content

The Joy-Con Drift Lawsuit was originally filed in July against Nintendo. The class-action lawsuit alleges Nintendo of misrepresentation, breaching implied warranties, fraud and warranty law violations as well as unjust enrichment.

The lawsuit alleged the company of having knowledge of a problem yet failing to acknowledge and even do corrective action. The problem specified the joystick to disrupt gameplay as it tends to register inputs and move the player on the screen even when nobody is touching the controls.

What is Demanded of Nintendo

Although Nintendo is offering free repairs for the problem, the lawsuit handled by Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith pushed for further relief from the company. It also called for the company’s financial penalties.

Free Joy-Con Repairs Does Not Help Switch Lite Users

The joining of the Switch Lite to the list of the Joy-Con Drift lawsuit signals a much bigger problem than the former issues that Nintendo users are facing. Standard console users who encountered the problem may just take advantage of the free repairs. They may also ship their defective Joy-Cons for repair.

In the case of Switch Lite users, it is more frustrating as some reports described. Since the controllers are built into its system, any system malfunction and repair will require them to ship their entire device to a repair center which usually takes a few weeks to complete.

What Can Nintendo Users Do?

There are a lot of DIY methods to combat the Joy-Con drift issue. There is even quite a long list of online tutorials for troubleshooting and fixing. However, in the case of Switch Lite, doing the repair yourself could lead to a more serious problem and the damage of the device.

What Does Nintendo Have to Say?

As of the moment, Nintendo has yet to release a statement about the matter.
