Over the next 18 months, Disney will release 10 more animated movies in theaters and on Disney+ after "Lightyear."

"Lightyear," which was released on Friday, is the fourth major Disney animated movie of 2022. "Turning Red," "Chip N Dale: Rescue Rangers," and "The Bob’s Burgers Movie," were also released in 2022. Disney creates its animation films through its three animation studios including Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, and Lucasfilm Animation.

The upcoming Disney animation movies will include a mix of completely new stories, awaited sequels and familiar titles that are now taking the movie screen.

"Lightyear" made $85.6 million worldwide in its opening weekend. "Turning Red," which was released on Feb. 21, has made $249 million worldwide. "The Bob's Burgers Movie" has made $31.9 million worldwide.

"Lightyear" fell short of expectations. Other "Toy Story" sequels made more than $100 million in ticket sales in opening weekends.
