Two men who were allegedly behind the burglary of a Nebraska apartment were arrested by Lincoln police after they returned to the same residence later in the day.

Police apprehended 22-year-old Dangelo Harris and 21-year-old Hunter Bull in Lincoln, Nebraska, Thursday, roughly three hours after they allegedly broke into the apartment and took an Xbox, jewelry, a speaker and $400 in cash, local newspaper Lincoln Journal Star reported.

According to police officer Luke Bonkiewicz, they received a call at around 3 a.m. about a break-in at an apartment from the residents, who were not named but were identified by KLKN as a 21-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man.

The two men allegedly had an AR-15 rifle and forced their way into their unit before leaving with valuables, the victims said. The loss reportedly amounted to around $1,100.

Harris and Bull then returned to the same apartment at around 6:30 p.m. When a neighbor spotted them, they immediately reported it to police, according to Bonkiewicz.

Officers surrounded the apartment and announced their presence when they arrived, Bonkiewicz said. Harris allegedly jumped out of the balcony and tried to escape from the police.

A foot pursuit ensued, but the 22-year-old was eventually collared, according to Bonkiewicz. He allegedly had an Xbox controller with him at the time of his arrest.

As Harris was being placed under arrest, police spotted another man, who turned out to be Bull, trying to make a run for it. But like Harris, he too was nabbed after a foot chase.

Bonkiewicz said the alleged incident "does not appear to be random," but it remains unclear why the two men returned to the scene.

Both were unarmed when they were arrested. One of the men was taken into custody at gunpoint, according to police radio traffic.

After interviewing the victims and some witnesses and gathering evidence from the scene of the crime, the Lincoln Police Department said that they have probable cause against the two men. Both are now being detained at the Lancaster County Jail.

Police cited and lodged the two men for alleged burglary and obstruction of a peace officer.
