Ford (F) has extended its F-Series truck line with the new 2023 F-150 Rattler pickup truck.

The Rattler is an entry-level addition that Ford said is aimed at “adventure-seeking customers” who are still looking for a four-wheel-drive pickup with off-road capability.

“Our new F-150 Rattler offers aspiring adventurers an off-road option with expressive looks and capability in one package,” Todd Eckert, Ford truck group marketing manager, said in a statement. “This truck builds off the F-150 off-road legacy while allowing us to introduce new customers to the right blend of styling and value in the F-150 lineup.”

The new pickup is built off Ford’s XL series, featuring FX4 content such as skid plates, electronic rear-locking differential, hill descent control, and specially tuned off-road shock absorbers, which aid in the truck’s on- and off-road abilities. All-terrain tires and 18-inch aluminum wheels round out the package.

To give the Rattler its “bold sound,” Ford fitted the truck with a dual exhaust system, while rattlesnake-inspired graphics and F-150 Rattler badging on the fender vents give the pickup its unique appearance.

Ford also equipped the truck with Onyx seats that feature bronze accents, while the interior trim has a desert-inspired theme. Exterior paint options include Oxford White, Avalanche, Iconic Silver, Carbonized Gray, Antimatter Blue, Stone Gray, Agate Black, and Rapid Red TriCoat.

The Rattler will also only be available as a SuperCab or SuperCrew, Car And Driver reported.

Ford said the 2023 F-150 Rattler pickup truck will go on sale this fall. The price of the truck was not immediately revealed by the automaker, but it is expected to cost less than the FX4 package, which has a starting price tag just under $30,000, according to Car And Driver.

As of Tuesday premarket hours, shares of Ford were trading at $16.97, up 30 cents, or 1.80%.
