Following a recall earlier in March for 2021 F-150 trucks because the windshield wiper motors could fail, Ford (F) is now recalling certain F-150 trucks again in addition to some Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs.

The recall was issued by the automaker due to a brake master cylinder that may leak fluid from the front wheel circuit into the brake booster, which could cause a loss of brake fluid.

This could change the brake pedal travel and increase the pedal effort while reducing the front brake function. As a result, the driver may require more effort and distance to stop the vehicle, which could increase the risk of a crash.

The recall affects 195,864 Ford vehicles in the U.S. and Canada. Impacted models include certain 2016 to 2017 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs and 2016 to 2018 F-150 pickup trucks that are equipped with 3.5 L Ecoboost engines.

To repair the brake fluid leak, Ford dealers will replace the master cylinder on the vehicle. If the master cylinder is found to be leaking, dealers will also replace the brake booster, Ford said. All repairs will be performed free of charge for affected vehicle owners.

Ford owners will begin receiving recall notices from the company on April 25.

Questions about the recall can be directed to Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.

Ford said as part of the recall notice that it was aware of four low-speed, low-impact accident allegations but no injuries.

According to Ford, this is an expansion of two previous recalls that were issued for the F-150s back in 2016 and 2020.

As of Tuesday at 1:24 p.m. ET, shares of Ford were trading at $17.00, up 52 cents, or 3.13%.
