One person was feared dead and at least three were injured after an under-construction building collapsed partially in Downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, on Monday.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. EST. Rescue officials at the site said three construction workers were pulled out of the debris whereas one person was believed to be stuck in the rubble.

After almost six hours after the incident, City Manager Patrick Duhaney said, “It is with a heavy heart that I announce first responders are transitioning from a rescue effort to a recovery mode in the search for a construction worker who went missing after a partial building collapse early this afternoon at a construction site at Fourth and Race streets in the Central Business District. The Hamilton County Coroner, accompanied by Cincinnati Fire, has spoken with the family.”

All three injured in the accident were taken to the local hospital for treatment and were expected to make a good recovery. The fire department officials added that, of the three injured, two sustained major injuries. They further stated that the search operation was tricky owing to the nature of the accident and the surroundings, adding that the crew was working around sharp objects and various dangerous equipment which delayed the rescue operations.
