Rio Rancho Police Department Captain Andrew Rodriguez told KRQE that the bodies sustained gunshot wounds and were found inside a home.

“At this time, no additional information is available. This is still an active investigation and we do not believe that there is an ongoing threat to the public,” the Department said in a Twitter post.

Authorities were notified around 4:14 p.m. in Rio Rancho, according to Fox News.

Rose Varona, who claimed to be a relative of the family that lived in the house said that her brother and mother found the bodies of the deceased.

She added that her family and the victims were together late Tuesday and stayed up until early Wednesday.

“I just had a feeling something was wrong, cause since yesterday in the evening I was telling my sister my heart was heavy and racing and I didn't know why,” she said.

They were supposed to meet again Wednesday, but Varona insisted that something was still wrong. Fearing that something happened to the family, Varona's brother and mother checked on them and discovered the bodies.

“I really don't understand what's going on, we just try to draw the strength from God, even though we don't understand what's going on,” expressed Varona.

Rio Rancho Police Department has yet to provide valuable information on the identities of the victims, but said that they will provide updates.
