A 6-year-old boy has been reportedly kidnapped from outside his house while playing and sodomized by four juveniles who took him to a deserted place, police said.

A group of four young boys, all aged between 10-14, reportedly abducted the boy from a village in Sambhal district in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh Friday.

The suspects who were also from the same village as that of the child took the boy away from his house to an isolated location where they reportedly committed the crime. Even though the incident happened Friday, the case was reported to the police only Saturday.

The boy's parents said that the child was shocked by the incident and talked to them about his horrific ordeal only after a lot of persuasions, The Times of India reported.

Based on the complaint from the victim's parents, the police have registered a case against the juveniles. The officials have not revealed the identities of the victim and the suspects because of their juvenile status.

The police sources said the case has been registered on counts of criminal intimidation, unnatural offenses and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace, a local news outlet LatestLY reported.

The police have not recorded any arrests and the investigation is underway. “The boy’s medical examination is being conducted and a probe has been ordered. Further legal action is underway," Davendra K Sharma, Station House Officer told The Times of India.

A 30-year-old man from the eastern Indian state of Bihar was jailed in June for allegedly sodomizing and murdering a 10-year-old boy to cover up his relationship with the child's mother. The police arrested the suspect identified as Sanjay Pandit after the boy's battered body was discovered from the banks of a canal a day after the child went missing. During a police interrogation, Pandit reportedly admitted that he strangled the boy after the child saw him in an objectionable position with his mother. He told the police that he decided to kill the child as he feared that he will disclose his secret relationship with his mother.
