Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom has put his home in the Hollywood Hills for rent at a whooping $18,000 a month.

The actor purchased the home for $2.75 million from late Los Angeles police commissioner and civil rights lawyer Melanie E. Lomax in 2007.

The traditional home is in a gated Hollywood Hills community, with 3,248-square foot living space on a heavily-landscaped three-quarters of an acre garden built in 1940. It includes a spa, waterfall pool, a den and two covered parking spaces.

The home also awes with walls of glass that flank the double walnut door entry. The kitchen has custom cherry cabinetry and a fireplace. A den-library-bedroom has its own entrance. A swimming pool and motor court complete the compound, which is gated and equipped with security cameras, according to the listing in Realtor.com.

Bloom is known for his roles in movies such as 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. In 2009, his celebrity status made him the target of a home break-in, in which he was robbed by the 'Bling Ring Gang', a group of teenage burglars who in the past have targeted homes of celebrities including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox.

Past summer Bloom secretly married Australian model Miranda Kerr, who gave birth to the couple’s first child, a baby boy earlier this month.

It is still a mystery as to where the 34-year-old actor and his wife plan to live to raise their child, who is yet to be named.

They are both absolutely ecstatic. I am beyond happy. They have a list of names and he tells me they are struggling to choose one, Contactmusic.com quoted Orlando's mother Sonia Bloom as saying.

Venessa Blair of a residential brokerage firm, Coldwell Banker, Beverly Hills East office, is the listing agent.
