A 37-year-old Alabama woman was arrested for allegedly boarding a school bus and beating up an 11-year-old whom she suspected of bullying her child.

On Tuesday, around 7:18 a.m., Nannatt Waldrop reportedly boarded the yellow school bus at the Center Point community. She then proceeded to get into a fight with a student whom she believed was picking on her child, reported New York Post.

Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and took Waldrop into custody at 8:34 a.m. She was charged with third-degree simple assault, trespassing a school bus and disorderly conduct.

At 11:35 a.m., on the same day, Waldrop posted bonds totaling $10,500 and was released from jail.

Later, a video of the woman fighting the young student circulated on social media.

The superintendent of Jefferson County Schools, Dr. Walter Gonsoulin said the incident was “unacceptable and will not be tolerated” in a statement Wednesday.

"While we are reviewing the specifics about what led up to this situation, adults who are not school employees are not allowed on school buses," he added, reported WVTM.

The condition of the 11-year-old is not known and it is unclear if the child sustained any serious injuries.

“While this is now a law enforcement matter, let me just say what I saw on that video deeply disturbs me,” said Gonsoulin, as per the outlet. “At no point is any type of violence acceptable, especially violence against students. We have been and will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement,” he added.

Earlier this month, a Florida mom was accused of helping her child and her child's friend beat up another child at a middle school in Palm Coast. The woman allegedly grabbed the unidentified victim by his hair and held him down while her kid and his friend repeatedly hit the boy. The victim’s mother saw the assault and notified the police. The suspected woman was arrested and charged with felony child abuse and misdemeanor battery.
