  • Woman took to Facebook to accuse a Satsuma Police officer of assaulting her
  • She also accused the officer of yelling profanity at her family members
  • Satsuma Police Department confirmed that the officer is now on administrative leave

Alabama police officer was placed on administrative leave after he was accused of assaulting a woman and her husband.

Logan Carter took to Facebook on Sunday to share a post in which she accused a Satsuma Police Department officer of assaulting her and her husband and yelling profanity at her family members.

On July 4, Carter, her husband Joshua and their infant son were driving to visit her parents when she was stopped by Officer Harvey Roberts. Carter wrote that she pulled over into her family’s driveway and got out of the vehicle. The officer asked her to show her license and registration.

“So I handed him my license and I asked “what did I do?” And he put his hand in my face and told me to give him the information,” she wrote in the Facebook post.

When Carter’s parents stepped out of their home to find out what was happening, the officer yelled profanity and asked her father to “stay the F*""""" back."

“I asked why was he acting like that and what I did and he again started putting his hand in my face yelling at me,” Carter wrote in the post.

When her husband asked the officer to stop putting his hand on Carter's face, things escalated. The officer shoved Josh into the car and started cussing at him and Carter. The officer then put Josh in handcuffs.

“My mom has already called the police station at this point requesting another officer please come to her house because this officer was acting insane. I’m telling josh to calm down and I’ll come get him not to worry about it,” Carter wrote in the Facebook post. “Josh asked what he was being arrested for and he said 'disorderly conduct.' Joshua asked for what and he said 'for cussing at me and the neighbors could hear you' keep in mind the neighbors are outside witnessing all of this, asking the cop what his deal is, and the cop has been yelling and cussing since he got out of the car so kinda ironic to arrest someone for cussing after you repeatedly assaulted them and have been cussing and yelling since you got out of the car.”

Carter then walked over to the car to get her infant son. The officer then “snatched” on the infant’s car seat.

She claimed that when the other officer arrived, Roberts’ demeanor completely changed. Carter and her husband were taken into custody. When they requested the dashcam and bodycam footage, they were informed that they didn’t have any.

Carter concluded her story by saying that she wanted the officer to be fired immediately.

“I was honestly scared that he was going to pull a gun on one of us. His behavior was so erratic that it literally scared me what he may do. He does not deserve to be a cop,” she wrote.

Hours after Carter posted about the interaction on social media, the Satsuma Police Department confirmed the cop has been placed on administrative leave.

“The Satsuma Police Department has been made aware of the current situation with one of our officers, being discussed on social media. Any and all witnesses to this matter are being advised to contact our Dept at 251-675-0151 as soon as possible!!” the department wrote in a Facebook post.
