A slew of photos reportedly pertaining to the upcoming “Sony Xperia C6” have been uploaded in China’s Baidu. This handset is believed to be the prototype version of the new C6. The device in focus flaunts a big display, unlike the Xperia Z series, and it has a flash mounted near the front-facing selfie-shooter.

Phone Arena says the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra, released in August 2015, is the predecessor of C6. Based on past rumors, the tech giant was expected to introduce the successor of the C5 Ultra as Sony Xperia C6 at the MWC 2016 event scheduled in Barcelona. Instead, Sony ended up introducing a new series called Xperia X.

In general, the Sony Xperia C series is known for housing mid-to-high-end configurations, with some surprises thrown in, for a reasonable price tag. As for specifications, the Sony Xperia C6 will reportedly flaunt a huge 6.0-inch display and it will be a mid-ranger.

Going by the photos, this device features a massive camera unit at the front with an LED flash in tow, guaranteeing brilliant selfie and groufie shots. Design-wise, the front and back of the Xperia C6 is marginally curved and it also has slim bezels. Meanwhile, Xperia Blog says this handset will support dual-SIM. Apart from these details, nothing much has been revealed by the source.

But then, past rumors suggested that the Xperia C6 will come bundled with a 1080p screen resolution. Under the hood, an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 SoC will reportedly power the handset.

Sony is apparently concentrating on “profits,” rather than churning out device after device in every different category to increase the “sales numbers.” Hence, the Japanese tech giant is consciously manufacturing only limited set of devices this year, Phone Arena noted.

Sony has not confirmed any information so far.
