The Amazon Prime Day 2019 coming up on July 15 will run for two full days.

Departing from the past, in the new schedule, Amazon Prime Day 2019 will start on July 15, and run for 48 hours from Monday 12 AM PT /3 AM ET, and run through 11:59 PM PT /2:59 AM ET on Tuesday, July 16th.

Amazon started expanding the shopping bonanza hours since last year. Amazon Prime Day in 2018 was 36 hours unlike the 24-hour editions before.

Prime Day was designed in July 2015 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Since then, the July event has replicated a Black Friday like fervor among global shoppers and transformed into a great event for die-hard fans.

The massive retail holiday will be open for Amazon Prime members only. Last year, Prime Day was celebrated in 17 countries and the list may expand this year.

The huge success of Prime Day 2018

In 2018, Amazon sold 100 million products during Amazon Prime Day.

Among the top selling products of last year were the Fire TV Stick, Echo Spot, and Echo Show. This year, the United Arab Emirates will be participating in the event for the first time.

Amazon Prime members can buy discounted products. But there is also the possibility of many products going out of stock as they get sold out fast. So, this sets in a scramble to purchase items in the quickest pace.

During Prime Day, since the online retailer cuts prices on most products, big deals are normal in all Amazon merchandise including TVs, headphones, Amazon Echo, laptops, video games, and Kindle products.

Amazon Prime Day deals are also a nice opportunity for shoppers to upgrade their gear without waiting for the sales in the fall as Prime Day deals will snag some great savings.

How does Amazon gain from Prime Day?

For Amazon, Prime Day shopping festival has double bonanza—it brings a global spotlight to its products and boosts the Amazon Prime membership volumes.

World over 100 million plus people have joined Amazon Prime subscription program and for them, Prime Day is a great event in their shopping life.

In the run-up to Amazon Prime Day, enrolment to the Amazon Prime campaign intensifies and millions of new members get added to the $119 annual free-shipping program. It cements customer relationships with the brand’s products and businesses including Whole Foods.

Amazon has added more spice to its Prime offering by offering free next-day delivery for more than 10 million products exclusively for Prime members.

One more highlight is that Prime Day 2019 will be the first Prime Day in which free one-day shipping is open for members without any minimum purchase requirements.
