“American Horror Story” fans can welcome actress Chlöe Sevigny to Season 5, “Hotel.” The 40-year-old actress, who first appeared in the FX miniseries in Season 2, “Asylum,” is the latest star to be cast in the chilling drama.

“AHS” co-creator, Ryan Murphy, made the announcement on Twitter Tuesday:

Unfortunately Murphy did not reveal any details about Sevigny’s character. However we do know that she joins fellow “American Horror Story” alums Wes Bentley and Matt Bomer. New cast members include Cheyenne Jackson and Lady Gaga.

Sevigny only has one season of “American Horror Story” under her belt – “Asylum.” The actress portrayed Shelley, a nymphomaniac who was locked up at Briarcliff. Shelley revealed her backstory to Dr. Arden (James Cromwell), explaining that her jazz musician husband had sent her to the insane asylum. According to the inmate, her husband had found her in bed with “Two Navy guys.” Although the he was having affairs of his own, he didn’t appreciate his wife seeking pleasure elsewhere.

“He decked me flat out, threw me in the car and locked me in the nuthouse,” she said. “And the sickest part is, they let him. Because I like sex. That’s my crime.”

Of course there was more to Shelley’s story. During her stay at Briarcliff she was very vulgar, and made sexual innuendos any chance she got. She not only butted heads with Dr. Arden, but also with Sister Jude (Jessica Lange). Shelley was so misbehaved that Sister Jude even shaved off part of her hair. But Shelley didn’t let something like that take her down.

“Do you think I’m full of shame and regret for what I’ve done now, Sister?” she questioned Jude. “You could shave me bald as a cue ball and I’d still be the hottest tamale in this joint.”

Unfortunately Shelley didn’t get a happy ending in “Asylum.” While attempting to make her escape from Briarcliff, Shelley’s plan was thwarted by Dr. Arden. He attempted to rape her, and amputated her legs when she laughed at his “manhood.” But that wasn’t all. She was transformed into some sort of mutant creature covered in boils, and suffocated by Monsignor Timothy Howard (Joseph Fiennes)when he found her at a local hospital.

Hopefully Chlöe Sevigny’s Season 5 character will have it much easier than Shelley.
