Amid a falling trend, the U.S. government on Thursday is expected to release its unemployment insurance weekly claims data on Thursday.

The report of weekly unemployment insurance claims from the Labor Department is due at 8:30 a.m.

Weekly claims have been, on average, declining since April after rising sharply in the first quarter of the year.

For the week ending Sept. 12, the figure for seasonally adjusted claims was 545,000, down 12,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 557,000.

The 4-week moving average was 563,000, down 8,750 from the previous week's revised average of 571,750.

The total number of people receiving benefits stands at 6,230,000 with a 4-week moving average of 6,180,250.
