Andrew Garfield got candid about shooting the now-famous “Spider-Man” pointing meme where he teamed up with Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire as part of the promotions for the latest superhero flick.

Garfield said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday that the funny meme, which went viral in February, was the first thing that the three actors shot upon arriving on the set of “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

“Me and Tobey landed on set. They put us in the costumes, and they said, ‘We’re gonna do the meme really quickly…’ That was before we had shot anything,” Garfield told Kimmel before the audience broke into laughter. “We were all kind of like thrown onto a set and told to point at each other.”

“I think we got one good shot, because the rest of the time we were just laughing and trying not to stare at each other’s crotches and just comparing bulges,” Garfield narrated.

In the movie, the actors reenacted the pointing gestures in a scene at a laboratory as Holland's Spider-Man sidekick Jacob (Batalon) looked for Peter.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” has earned $793 million since it opened in theaters on Dec. 17, 2021. It has outdone James Cameron’s “Avatar” and became the third highest-grossing domestic release in history next to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Avengers: Endgame.”

Asked if he agrees that the superhero flick should have been nominated for an Oscar, Garfield smiled and told Kimmel, “John Watts is an incredible director. He pulled together all these different stories and strands and he made it feel totally heartfelt and important.”

Garfield recently revealed on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast that he is open to doing another web-slinging movie with Tom Holland and Maguire.

“In terms of moving forward with the character, yes I am definitely open to that,” Garfield said in the January episode of the podcast. "Again, it would have to be something very unique, very special and serving to an audience and in service of the character. There’s something playful and unique and odd and unexpected to be done. I’m not sure what is but if we can figure it out it would be so much fun.”
