The Apple iPhone 5 rumors have kept users waiting in anticipation for a new smartphone with high speed performance and new features. Google is fully aware of this and will be giving Apple competition with the release of its most powerful Android smartphone on the market, the Nexus 4G.

Based on sources from Boy Genius Report, the Nexus 4G was described as a beast thanks to its light speed dual core CPU and paralleling that with Android 4.0 OS Ice Cream Sandwich. The dual core 1.2 or 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM may make this Google's future flagship smartphone.

Rumors have also indicated that the Nexus 4G will sport a front camera with 1 megapixel capability and a rear 5 megapixel camera. The cameras will include upgraded technology for superior image quality by capturing better photos in low light environments. The front and rear cameras enable online video conferencing, though it was unclear whether that feature can be run through 4G or only by WiFi.

A monster sized screen with 720p will accompany the ability of 1080p HD video capture and playback. The phone will be presented as a thin and slim sized package with possible carriers being AT&T, as the phone is expected to utilize its 4G LTE radio, though that is not confirmed. With its large screen, the phones design has removed the typical Android physical buttons. This may be a sign of Google moving their Android phones in the direction of software and voice based interfaces as Google has recently announced new voice search features on its Chrome browser.

Apple's iPhone5 is also rumored to have 1080p HD video playback capacity running on its curved glass screen. The iPhone 5 will run it on a large curved glass screen and voice recognition to possibly combat Android's voice features. Apple inked a contract with OmniVision who will be providing sensor hardware to supply 8 megapixel cameras for iPhone 5. With features like that, Apple's smartphone debut will be tough competition. But don't count out the Nexus 4G as it looks very impressive with a full array of features and utilizes the newest hardware to possibly make it the most powerful smartphone on the market.

With the Nexus 4G and iPhone 5 both having similar launch dates in September or November, it will be interesting to see how the two devices will go at it over the holiday shopping season.
