Angelina Jolie looked absolutely stunning in a backless dress that showed off her extensive tattoos.

On Monday, Jolie graced the premiere of "Dumbo" at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles, USA Today reported. For the event, the Oscar-winning actress and UN ambassador, who has at least 20 tattoos, lit up the red carpet in a white Atelier Versace gown with sheer overlay that revealed her extensive collection of ink on her back. She paired the look with delicate droplet earrings and low-key makeup, according to Harper's Bazaar.

Jolie brought along four of her six children as her dates for the "Dumbo" premiere, Zahara, 14, Shiloh 12 and 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Jolie's eldest children, Maddox, 17, and Pax, 15, were noticeably absent from the event.

Zahara looked all grown up in a revealing jumpsuit with a low-cut neckline, while Shiloh donned a white button-down, black jacket and matching pants for the premiere. The twins, on the other hand, complemented each other in blue ensembles.

Meanwhile, among the tattoos on Jolie's back are a Buddhist prayer, a Tennessee Williams quote and geographical coordinates of where her children were born, according to Daily Mail. In 2016, the "Maleficent 2" star got the three largest tattoos on her back, which include the ancient Buddhist mantras down her right shoulder blade and a temple in the center of her back. Below the temple ink is a grid design known as a Yantra, which is believed to bring good luck.

Below the grid design is another tattoo, this time depicting a large Bengal tiger, which she got to celebrate the approval of her Cambodian citizenship in 2004.

Jolie had the ink done in Bangkok, and the tattoo was made in traditional Thai style with a manual needle. It was also blessed by the tattoo artist, who chanted an ancient hymn while inking it on Jolie's skin.

The ink on her left shoulder blade, meanwhile, is a script dedicated to her eldest son, Maddox, whom she adopted from Cambodia. Jolie got the tattoo done in a Thai hotel back in 2003.

Jolie also has a couple ink that she and estranged husband Brad Pitt got before they parted ways in 2016. A former Thai monk flew to Cambodia where Jolie had been filming in order to draw designs on the former couple using the same ink. This ritual symbolically "bound" them as husband and wife.

In addition, the "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" star also got a tattoo of gothic lettering on her neck which read: "Know Your Rights." This is the title of a song of one of her favorite bands, The Clash.
