As if the rumors about the release and features of Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 are not enough, the tech world has turned to another device - Apple's MacBook Pro 2012, which is reported to be released by June.

The current rumors have sprawled around the highly anticipated device, stating that the ultra thin laptop will have a much bigger battery than the current iteration, an SSD and a standard hard disk drive without an optical drive.

Earlier reports predicted that Apple might drop the 17-inch MacBook Pro from its lineup due to weak sales and to streamline the company's product offerings. However, according to recent reports by Slashgear, the folks over there have mentioned that Apple will not cut down the size of the MacBook Pro to that of the MacBook Air, which they noted made sense because both devices targeted different audiences.

The report also explained that Apple had presented a non-disk future in its MacBook Air models for several generations now. And with the Mac App Store live and in action for software, tech enthusiasts might get to see the MacBook Pro 2012 models hitting stores with no room for a DVD without a doubt.

Further, itproportal reports also noted that Apple may definitely need the extra battery capacity if it wants to improve the display resolution from the current 1,920 x 1080 pixels to qHD (2,560 x 1440). This judgment was made in the reports, following the rumor that after Apple's resolutionary New iPad release, the upcoming devices including iPhone 5 or MacBook Pro, all are expected to sport the same Retina display with the revolutionary high screen resolution with 3.1 million pixel color support.

Further, the reports also said that for the hybrid SSD+HDD, it is likely that Apple will hold off using the more expensive SSD-only option, as on the MacBook Air until prices fall further.
