“Arrested Development” actor Jason Bateman recently shared a first look at the show’s set for Season 5.

On his Twitter account, Bateman uploaded a snap of the Bluth family’s living room. Even though some of the couches and chairs were covered in the picture, it is still obvious that living room and dining area inside the Bluth household are painted in mostly white and blue hues. Bateman captioned the photo by saying that trouble is looming in the horizon with the arrival of the Bluths.

According to TV Line, Netflix announced the renewal of “Arrested Development” for Season 5 in May, just days after Bateman confirmed that he will reprise his role as Michael Bluth. Netflix chief officer Ted Sarandos also hinted on the central theme for Season 5 at the time. “The Bluths will collectively be spending more quality time with their millions of fans around the world,” he said.

In January, TV Line also claimed that “Arrested Development” Season 5 will have a major prequel element. This means that the series will feature a series of flashbacks centered on the younger versions of some of the main characters. However, the same publication noted that Netflix never confirmed or denied these speculations. An insider said, “More of the episodes can now include all of the original cast together, with lots of big group family scenes.”

While at the Television Critics Association press tour earlier this year, “Arrested Development” executive producer Brian Grazer said that they will figure out a way to create a better work matrix for the cast members. This way, they can still make movies and star in other shows while appearing in the Netflix series.

Production for “Arrested Development” Season 5 kicked off in June, and Grazer said that there will be a total of 17 episodes for the show. The premiere episode is slated to be released sometime next year.

“Arrested Development” centers on Michael running his family’s real estate business after his dad goes to prison for committing a white-collar crime. The lead character juggles being a good boss and a good father to his son, George (Michael Cera), while tending to their other family members.
