  • Future works NFT to be sold for $150mn
  • Future art works include 120 art pieces
  • Omega NFT will be sold as a market cap NFT

A New York-based artist has dropped a groundbreaking NFT (non-fungible tokens) project titled OMEGA consisting of all future works to be created over the next ten years on sale for about $150 million.

Gabriel Dean Roberts, who is also a SuperWorld Artist-in-Residence, has put 120 original artworks over the next decade, a custom Rolls Royce Ghost designed by Roberts, 1 million trees planted, and $1 million to Doctors Without Borders on sale as NFTs, according to a SuperWorld statement on Monday.

The Omega NFT will be sold on the SuperRare platform. At the same time, its subsequent art will be displayed at the Louvre in an Augmented Reality (AR) gallery on the SuperWorld platform.

Designed as a "market cap NFT," Omega ensures it will be the highest value NFT ever sold or resold, the statement read.

"At 50,000 Ethereum (Approximately $150 million) Ω will disrupt the art world and change the way people see smart contracts as a tool. This goes beyond the initial work itself because it shows artists and others just how powerful the smart contract can be," Roberts said.

Hrish Lotlikar, Co-Founder and CEO of SuperWorld, said, "I'm thrilled to be working with Gabriel and honored to host the OMEGA gallery in AR in SuperWorld. The grand scale, social impact, and artistic audacity of this project are aligned with our own values. Apart from setting a new standard for how luxury art and NFTs are both created and appreciated, Gabriel is helping to build a better world. We're eager to see how OMEGA shapes the future."

Roberts is a New York-based artist whose work has drawn attention through fine art photography in traditional media and the NFT art world. He sold over 200 original works across several platforms in 2021

He also introduced Sm-ART NFT in September, which was touted as the first platform of its kind to allow anyone, including the small investor, to buy, sell and take advantage of part ownership of fine works of art, sculptures, and luxury jewelry using fractional tokens and purchase fractional shares in his modern art masterpieces.
