Atlanta, Georgia -- Rapper Trouble, an Atlanta-area artist, was shot and killed on Sunday morning in a suspected home invasion.

Deputies with the Rockdale County Sheriff's office were called to Lake St. James Apartments in Conyers, about 25 miles east of Atlanta, on Sunday at about 3:20 a.m. Trouble, whose legal name is Mariel Semonte Orr, was pronounced dead on the scene, NBC News reports.

According to a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, they have a suspect in mind with whom they would like to interview. At a news conference, Rockdale County Sheriff's spokesperson Jedidia Canty identified 33-year-old Jamichael Jones as a suspect who is being sought on warrants based on allegations of murder, home invasion, and aggravated assault.

Canty explained that Jones was involved in a "domestic situation" with a woman Trouble, 34, was visiting that weekend, but there is no evidence he and Trouble had prior history. Jones is suspected of breaching the woman's residence before firing into the home with a gun, striking Trouble in the chest, killing him.

Trouble is remembered for his songs devoted to the rougher side of growing up in Atlanta. After releasing his breakthrough single "Bussin'" in 2011, Orr began to slowly see his star rise which led to collaborations with prominent rappers including Drake, The Weeknd, and Pusha T.

One of Trouble’s record labels, Def Jam, described him as "an inspiration to the community he proudly represented" and expressed its condolences to the rapper’s family.

"A true voice for his city," the label said in a post on Instagram.
