Former U.S. President Barack Obama sent his fans into a meltdown when he posted an inspiring Thanksgiving message on his social media accounts on Thursday. The ex-POTUS also shared a snap of the entire family while giving out some food items.

“Today, we give thanks for our blessings, give back to those around us, and enjoy some time — and turkey, and maybe a little football — with the ones we love,” Barack wrote on Twitter. “From the Obama family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving,” he went on.

Avid followers of the former POTUS were quick to react on his heartwarming post. Aside from sending their greetings, most commenters expressed how much they “missed” Barack Obama, Michelle, Malia and Natasha.

“I know you hear it every day but I miss you guys so much! If I could sit down and talk with one person on the planet today, it would be you. You always know the right thing to say to make us feel like we will get through this nightmare. Be blessed my friend,” a netizen wrote in the comment section. “Miss you, love you and wish nothing but all the God's of the Universes blessings for you, Michelle, Sasha and Malia Ann. Happy Thanksgiving to all your family and friends,” another Twitter user said.

Others took the opportunity to praise Barack Obama and his family for continuing their charitable works. “So generous of you to spend your time helping others. Everyone at that place will remember the day they met you and your wonderful family. This is what Thanksgiving should be about,” one of Barack’s followers stated.

There were also a few who compared Barack Obama’s governance to President Donald Trump’s administration. “Miss you so much! Trump is terrible for our country. Health is failing from my constant worry & anger. Can’t bring myself to speak to family members who voted for him. Enough was known of trump before he entered the presidential race to make him ineligible to be POTUS. Come back!” Gail Lilith said.

“This is how a born leader acts. He sets an example for the nation as he serves his local community. Through his acts may we know him. Obama reminds us that good men and women are still the majority, that kindness is still the right choice, and Trump's shit is still NOT normal,” a sixth netizen wrote.

Meanwhile, netizens were also pleased to see that Malia and Sasha are all grown up now. Michelle Obama sparked Twitterstorm when she posted a rare family photo on social media to celebrate Thanksgiving Day. “From our family to yours, #HappyThanksgiving!” the former First Lady wrote in the caption.

In the snap, Malia sported a lilac-colored mini dress while Sasha looked stunning in her formal black strappy dress, which featured a thigh-high slit. Barack Obama, for his part, donned a checkered shirt while Michelle wore a monochrome summer dress.
