Bella Thorne wants to make it clear that she did not play with anyone’s heart. The actress took to Twitter to address the issue about her, Tyler Posey and Charlie Puth.

“Charlie and I were hanging out,” Thorne said in a tweet. “He saw an old interview and got butthurt, but instead of texting me and asking me about it, he put it on Twitter.”

Thorne has already tried to clarify in a message posted earlier that she and Puth are not officially dating and that contrary to what the singer thought, she was not cheating on Posey with him. The actress said she and the “Teen Wolf” actor had already broken up weeks ago and that the article Puth reacted to was written months prior to them “hanging out.”

In a series of tweets, Puth shared how he thinks it was wrong for Thorne to spend time with him while she was still with Posey. Puth also said that he does not know Posey personally, but he thinks Thorne should not have treated him badly, assuming that what he read in Thorne’s interview with Paper mag was written recently.

“No one should have their heart messed with like this, and I’m not going to be in the middle of it,” Puth said. “I don’t know Tyler personally, but I know he shouldn’t be treated this way.”

While many of Puth’s fans rallied behind him, there were also people who found his tweets bizarre and off. One of them is “Scream Queens” star Keke Palmer, who took to Twitter to share her thoughts about the issue. Quoting Puth’s tweet about being confused because Thorne told him that she and Posey had already broken up despite what he read, Palmer said: “Why couldn’t you have just texted @bellathorne if you were confused?”

Thorne and Puth were recently photographed together at the Y100’s Jingle Ball. They were also spotted hanging out at a beach.
