The Grammy’s 2014: Red Carpet Re-Cap [VIDEO]
Are You Really Wearing That? The Great, The Boring And The Shocking Looks From The Grammy’s Red Carpet Reuters

The 56th annual Grammys were held in Los Angeles, Calif. on Sunday as the stars flocked to the red carpet for music’s night of nights. As far as red carpets are concerned, the Grammys is a more relaxed and fun evening, and a chance for stars to show their spunk. While some emerged as top players in the fashion world, there were some major flops.

One of the biggest trends of the evening was sparkle, like Ciara and Chrissie Teigen who rocked the gilded frocks that fit like a glove. Ciara rocked Emilio Pucci while Teigen wore a Johanna Johnson strapless dress that accentuated her model physique. Both ladies, who topped the best dressed list, exuded elegance and glamor, Ciara showing that even pregnant she still is one of the sexiest women in the biz.

Taylor Swift is another lady who got it right in terms of getting a dress that fit her like a second skin as she dazzled in a floor length Gucci dress. The dress itself was made of chainmail, and she told reporters it was heavy to wear but she wore it well.

Flashing less skin then we are used to was a more demure Pair Hilton who wore a white gown from the Haus of Milani; with a higher neck line, Hilton still looked sexy with flashes of nude fabric that gave the allusion of skin. Following that same trend was the Queen herself Beyoncé who rocked a Michael Costello custom gown, proving that she really can do no wrong with those infamous curves.

But with the good comes the bad, and the so very ugly. People all over the world woke up today talking about ‘that’ hat that Pharrell Williams wore, by Vivienne Westwood. This guy is a true talent in the industry and is known for his bold fashion choices, but the hat was a flop and it even got its own Twitter handle by the end of the evening.

Some of the underwhelming looks of the evening were Pink in Johanna Johnson and Natasha Bedingfeld in Christian Siriano. Both looks were boring and predictable. They did not bring out the fun and the rock’n’roll flair that we have come to expect for the Grammys. Other celebrities that made the list for the worst dressed of the evening include Katy Perry in Valentino and Madonna who should have known better than to wear a grill. C’mon lady you are over 40—time to dress like it.
