‘Big Bang Theory’
What decision will Professor Proton (Bob Newhart) help Sheldon (Jim Parsons) with in “Big Bang Theory” Season 11? CBS

“Big Bang Theory” Season 11 will see the return of Bob Newhart as Professor Proton on its Nov. 2 episode.

According to TV Line, Professor Proton will once again appear in Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) dream to help him see through another “difficult” time in his life. In Season 9, Sheldon was struggling about losing his virginity to Amy (Mayim Bialik) so he sought his idol’s help through his dream.

As of late, other details about Professor Proton’s return are still being kept under wraps. But there are speculations that Sheldon will have a hard time planning his wedding that’s why he will dream of him again. In Season 11 premiere, Sheldon finally received a “yes” from Amy after he proposed to her in the Season 10 finale.

According to a fan-made spoiler account, one of the upcoming episodes of the hit CBS TV series will center on the couple disagreeing about their wedding plans. In episode 3, rumored to be titled “The Relaxation Integration,” Sheldon will not be able to pick out a wedding date. Amy wants their wedding to be held near a cliff, but Sheldon doesn’t think it’s a good idea.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, new showrunner Steve Holland said that they will play around with stories regarding Amy and Sheldon planning their wedding.

“Specifically, Sheldon, who has ideas about everything, is going to have ideas about their wedding. One of the episodes is Sheldon, who is so excited, wants to make the wedding so perfect that he starts to drive himself crazy trying to pick a wedding date. Because he can’t just pick a date – he has to analyze every date; he’s sure that there’s a best one out there. And he can be like that with every decision for this wedding,” he said.

Meanwhile, Newhart’s Nov. 2 episode will also feature the return of Wil Wheaton as Sheldon’s longtime frenemy. He was last seen in “The Celebration Experimentation” attending Sheldon’s birthday party. During his toast, Wil admitted that he and Sheldon have had their ups and downs, but admitted that he is a huge fan of the physicist.
