‘Big Brother’
Cameron Heard, 24, was the first houseguest to be evicted from “Big Brother” Season 19. CBS

Big Brother” Season 19 officially premiered on CBS on Wednesday, June 28, and host Julie Chen wasn’t kidding when she called the entire season, “The Summer of Temptation.

After 16 houseguests entered the “Big Brother” house, Chen announced the first big twist for Season 19, which is that a houseguest will have the chance to bring home $25,000 and keep his identity anonymous from his fellow houseguests. However, there’s a catch: whoever takes the money will not get the chance to become Head of Household (HoH) in week 1.

But this wasn’t the last of the exciting twists and turns for the premiere. After stay-at-home dad Kevin decided to take the money, he maintained a poker face so he wouldn’t get busted by the others. What they didn’t know is that getting the money also opened the door for a former houseguest to return to the house and compete in Season 19. Paul Abrahamian from Season 18 returned to the game.

With Paul’s arrival came another shocking twist. He was tasked to give friendship bracelets to eight houseguests whom he wanted to keep safe from this week’s eviction. Luckily for Kevin, his bold move wasn’t exposed, so he received a bracelet from Paul. Just like him, Raven, Dominique, Mark, Jason, Jessica, Ramses and Elena were all safe.

The remaining houseguests who didn’t receive a friendship bracelet from Paul competed in the first competition this summer which was inspired by the Garden of Eden. The endurance challenge named Cody as the winner, so he was also safe from elimination. Three houseguests ended up on the chopping block after not being able to complete the task. Jillian, Cameron and Christmas each grabbed a “poisoned apple” after falling off from their trapeze.

Towards the end of the episode, the houseguests had to vote to keep two of the three nominees, after the three houseguests decided it was the best way to go instead of competing against each other. In the end, microbiologist Cameron was the one sent home after only receiving two votes to stay in the competition.

“Big Brother” Season 19 airs Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
