“Big Little Lies” Season 1 may have had a satisfying ending with the death of Perry (Alexander Skarsgard), but fans are wondering whether or not there’s hope for a second season for the hit HBO TV series.

While speaking with TV Line, Skarsgard himself may have hinted that there won’t be a second season for “Big Little Lies.” After all, the show was designed to be a miniseries. The actor revealed that since this is the case, the scripts for the seven episodes were given to them in advance. This means that he was already aware of how the show will end. “From the get-go. Because it’s a miniseries, they had all of the episodes written in advance. So I had the opportunity to read all of them before jumping in,” he said.

In the series, Perry played the role of Celeste’s (Nicole Kidman) abusive husband. When asked if he thinks there could have been redemption for Perry had he not been killed, Skarsgard said “no,” explaining that he has already gone too far.

Meanwhile, Kidman and Skarsgard sat down for an interview with Entertainment Weekly where they dished on the controversial subject of violence and abuse in “Big Little Lies.” Kidman revealed that filming those scenes were so intense that there was a time she went home weeping. “There were days and days of doing a lot of aggressive, really violent scenes. And I would go home and have a shower or have a bath and I would weep,” she said.

Skarsgard, on the other hand, shared how lucky he was to have shared such scenes with Kidman. “Those days were horrible, but having a partner like Nicole was extraordinary. We had an opportunity to get to know each other and build trust,” he said.

“Big Little Lies” Season 1 aired its finale episode on Sunday, April 2 at 9 p.m. EST.
