Take an in-depth look at the rise and fall of once-beloved sitcom actor Bill Cosby in an upcoming hour-long special on Investigation Discovery. The special, titled “Bill Cosby: An American Scandal,” details the height of his fame, the sexual assault allegations against him and his eventual downfall.

The special will feature a number of interviews which will reveal how Cosby, 79, went “from being America’s dad to being a pathological monster.” Biographer Ronald L. Smith, famed attorney Gloria Allred, Cosby accuser Shawn Brown and more will share their testimony in “Bill Cosby: An American Scandal” according to Us Weekly. Previews for the show tease an emotional interview from Brown, who joins a long list of more than 50 women who claim the former “Cosby Show” star drugged and raped them.

“I just remember waking up feeling like there were things done to me,” she says through tears.

Viewers can tune in to “Bill Cosby: An American Scandal” Monday, June 6. The special premieres on the very day that the disgraced actor is set to appear in court to be tried. He’s facing three charges of aggravated indecent assault against Andrea Constant, stemming from a 2004 incident that allegedly took place inside Cosby’s Philadelphia home. Although several other woman claim they, too, were sexually assaulted by Cosby, the statute of limitations has expired on many of the potential cases.

Cosby’s lawyer is clearly nervous heading into the trial. On May 24, Brian McMonagle complained that prosecutors intentionally tried to keep black jurors off the panel. NBC News reported that he worried the lack of diversity would affect the case, suggesting that it was one-sided racially.

“We believe this is systematic exclusion of African-Americans,” he said, registering a Batson challenge. “We believe it is of paramount importance we seat a diverse jury.”

Cosby, however, seems relaxed ahead of the trial. He continues to maintain his innocence, pleading not guilty and denying all claims against him. In an interview with SiriusXM host Michael Smerconish, Cosby said he felt accusers were “piling on” charges to garner publicity.

“Could be, could be,” he said when asked about the possibility (via CNN). “I can’t say anything, but there are certain things that I look at and I apply to the situation and there are so many tentacles. So many different — nefarious is a great word. And I just truly believe that some of it may very well be that.”

Cosby’s family has been standing behind him throughout the entirety of the case. His daughter Ensa appeared on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” to defend her father. She told the popular morning show’s hosts her father “is innocent.”

“How my father is being punished by a society that still believes black men rape white women; but pass off ‘boys will be boys’ when white men are accused and how the politics of our country prove my disgust. My father has been publicly lynched by the media,” she said.

Neither Cosby, nor members of his family are expected to appear in “Bill Cosby: An American Scandal.” Tune in to Investigation Discovery Monday, June 5 at 9 p.m. EDT.
