  • Eilish was initially apprehensive about the photo shoot because she has not done anything like it before

Billie Eilish showed her sexy side when she graced the British Vogue's cover for its June edition.

Eilish is known for sporting loose outfits and rocking colorful hair. However, she surprised many with her recent magazine cover where she looked so different. She was stunning in lingerie and with her new blonde hair in the photo.

According to Vogue, it took four dye sessions to erase the signature jet black and lurid green hair color she's been rocking for 18 months. The 19-year-old singer was "ready for it to suck" but the experience has been transformative for her.

"I feel more like a woman, somehow," the Grammy winner said.

The outlet noted that it was Eilish's idea to have a new look for the Vogue cover. She wanted to embrace a "classic, old-timey pin-up" look inspired by Betty Brosmer, Horst’s illusionist beauty shots and the stockinged models of Elmer Batters. However, even if her new look was entirely her idea, Eilish was apprehensive at first.

"I’ve literally never done anything in this realm at all," she told the magazine while dropping her jaw in exaggerated horror while chewing a gum. "Y’know, besides when I’m alone and s--t."

Eilish said she wants to make a point with her new look and comeback single that confronts abusers who exploit underage girls.

"Don’t make me not a role model because you’re turned on by me," she said.

Eilish has been open about her body image struggles. In fact, she admitted that her figure "was the initial reason for my depression when I was younger." It's the reason why she always wore baggy clothes that became her fashion trademark.

"I never want the world to know everything about me," she said in a 2019 Calvin Klein campaign. "I mean, that’s why I wear big, baggy clothes: Nobody can have an opinion, because they haven't seen what’s underneath."

Meanwhile, Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, shared how the shoot with Eilish changed her.

"Billie represents something completely new," Michele said. "She is a continuously evolving artist with a new vision and interpretation of herself in terms of femininity. Billie is exactly where she means to be without prejudice. That’s why working with her is so stimulating – she forces me to think differently."
