  • Billie Eilish says Megan Thee Stallion deserved the award
  • Eilish and her brother FINNEAS won for “Everything I Wanted”
  • Eilish was nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year

Billie Eilish won the Grammy Award for record of the year for the second time in a row on March 15. However, according to the singer, Megan Thee Stallion deserved it more.

Eilish, 19, and her brother FINNEAS, 23, won at the 63rd Grammy Awards for “Everything I Wanted” against Dua Lipa, Post Malone, Doja Cat, DaBaby, Roddy Ricch, Beyoncé, Black Pumas and Megan Thee Stallion.

The official Twitter handle of Grammy tweeted:

Eilish went on the stage with her brother to accept the award and noted "this is really embarrassing for me."

"Megan, girl... I was gonna write a speech about how you deserve this but then I was like, ‘There’s no way they’re going to choose me.’ I was like, ‘It's hers.’ You deserve this," she said, Pitch Fork reported. "You had a year that I think is un-stoppable. You are a queen—I want to cry thinking about how much I love you... You deserve everything in the world, I think about you constantly... You deserve it."

FINNEAS also took to Twitter on Sunday and noted how he was happily waiting to hear Stallion's name as a winner. He quoted CBS This Morning's tweet that featured his and Eilish's reaction when their name was announced as winners.

Eilish’s theme song for the upcoming James Bond movie, "No Time to Die," also won Best Song Written for Visual Media. The fellow nominees in the category included Cynthia Erivo and Joshuah Brian Campbell, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, Phil Hanseroth and Tim Hanseroth, Brandi Carlile, Taylor Swift and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The singer took to Instagram to share a video clip of her and her brother accepting the award. "A GRAMMY?????????? thank you thank you thank you! what an amazing start to the day," she captioned the video.

The singer was also nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year. Interestingly, this was the first time in the history of Grammy that an unreleased movie's song has won the award.

Meanwhile, Eilish is all set to perform live at the "Life Is Beautiful Festival" in Downtown, Las Vegas, in September 2021.
