Official news on the next "BioShock" title is scarce but recently discovered job listings may offer fans an idea of what to expect.

A new set of exciting details associated with the development of "Bioshock 4" emerged recently. This information has nothing to do with the game's gameplay, setting, or story, it offers fans some insights on what to expect from the upcoming installment to the hit first-person shooter franchise. In a new job listing at Cloud Chamber, the studio handling "Bioshock 4," suggested that the game is created using Unreal Engine 5.

In the job description for a certain role, the listing says it needs someone to "work within Unreal Engine 5 adapting existing systems and building new technology in order to fulfill the project's technical needs and creative goals." For some fans, it is a big deal that the game would be developed with Unreal Engine 5 because it is one of the most advanced game engines in the industry.

Revealed by Epic Games last year, Unreal Engine 5 is designed to bring games to an all-new height in terms of visual fidelity that the industry has not yet seen. The "Bioshock" series is among those created within the game engines' previous iterations, so it is not surprising to see Cloud Chamber use the same game engine for the next "Bioshock" title. Considering that the next "Bioshock" game is not releasing for some time yet, there is a big possibility that it is targeting next-generation development.

It makes sense that the game would use the latest toolset available in the industry. Aside from this, industry insider Xbox Era recently shared in a podcast the possibility that "Bioshock 4" would be a PS5 exclusive. Unfortunately, the insider is not sure if the upcoming title would be released either as a timed or fully exclusive game.

If this claim is accurate, it would be a piece of very disappointing news for Xbox users and a controversial decision of 2K Games. Meanwhile, other Cloud Chamber job listings may have suggested a few possible details about "Bioshock 4." This includes a potential open-world setting, AI improvements, dialogue choices and a lot more.
