Lil Wayne may have recently said he’s working on new music for 2017 but that doesn’t mean fans won’t get a chance to finally hear the long-awaited “Tha Carter V.”

Appearing on the latest episode of Travis Scott’s Beats 1 radio show, .wav radio, Birdman was asked about the oft-delayed album. Following a claim that he wasn’t in possession of the album, Birdman confirmed it would still be coming out.

“‘Carter V’ coming out,” Birdman said. “It’s definitely coming out. The situation with me and my son, bruh — I’m a put all of that behind us and just let it move forward.” Birdman went on to praise Weezy, calling him “one of the best artists ever to do the game.”

While Birdman wants to put their differences behind them, it may not be as easy for Lil Wayne. In an October 2016 interview with Hip Hollywood, Lil Wayne said he was too old for friends and said Birdman was no longer family. “I’m 34, baby, I’m too old for friends. His last name isn’t Carter, baby. He’s not family.”

The feud between two has now been going on for years and dates back to 2014 when Lil Wayne said Birdman and Cash Money Records refused to release his album. In 2014, Wayne took to Twitter to update fans on his situation.

“To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz (sic) Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it,” he tweeted. “This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation.”

A copy of “Tha Carter V” recently found its way to the hands of former pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli after he revealed he bought the album. Shkreli took to Periscope to stream songs from the album but wouldn’t reveal who he got it from.

Lil Wayne’s team confirmed the album Shkreli purchased was official but had no idea how he got his hands on it. While the version Shkreli has is legitimate, a final completed version of the album has yet to be handed over to Birdman and Cash Money.
