It’s almost that time of year again. Just after Thanksgiving Day feasters digest their turkey and end their festivities, holiday shoppers will flock to retail stores as early as Thursday evening to take advantage of Black Friday's famous sales. Chaotic holiday shoppers and long, dreadful lines have become staples of the post-Thanksgiving buyer’s holiday, which is believed to date back to the late 19th century according to Mental Floss.

Black Friday can be a disappointment if shoppers go in without a plan, since it’s easy to get swept away in the massive hordes of crazy shoppers. Check out our list below for some of the best Black Friday deals for electronics and video games in 2012.

Best Buy

Best Buy isn’t announcing its full lineup of Black Friday 2012 sales until Thanksgiving, but its website has offered a sneak peek at what’s to come. Some highlights include a Toshiba 40-inch Class LCD HD TV that will be selling for $179.99, a 15.6-inch Samsung Windows 8 laptop with 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive for $349.95, and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 for $179.99.

Sprint subscribers will be able to snag Samsung’s Galaxy S3 for only $48 through Best Buy on Black Friday. A slew of Asus 14-inch Windows 8 laptops available in pink, white or green will also be selling for $249.99.

For gamers, titles such as “Medal of Honor: Warfighter,” “Darksiders II” and “Battlefield 3: Premium Edition” will be on sale for $29.99.

These prices apply to Best Buy’s Doorbusters sales that begin at 12 am on Friday. The electronics retailer will be handing out tickets to customers waiting in line two hours before doors open.

Walmart

Walmart, the king of Black Friday sales, will be offering sales on select electronics. Highlights include Apple’s iPad with Retina Display for $499, a 50-inch Sceptre LCD HD TV for $429, and an HP 15.6-inch Windows 8 laptop for $299.

The mega-retailer also separates its electronics sales into various categories such as Tablets, Best Sellers, New Electronics, Colorful Gadgets and more. Visit their official website to browse the entire selection of sale items.

Microsoft Store

Microsoft has also posted a preview of its sales for Black Friday 2012. Customers shopping for a new PC this holiday season will find some alluring sales on select Windows-based PCs. When purchasing a Surface bundle, users can save $50 on a second touch or type cover. Microsoft shoppers will also get $200 off the Acer Aspire V5 Notebook, bringing the price down to $699.99. VIZIO’s 14-inch Ultrabook will also be on sale for the same price.

Apple Store

True to Apple form, the company has not revealed any specific sales for this year’s Black Friday. Apple did, however, post a holiday gift guide on their official US website, but there doesn’t appear to be a difference in price for any items. Apple’s Australian site has teased a “one-day Apple shopping event” on Nov. 23, but has not released any other details at this time.
