KEY POINTS

  • Lisa Manoban is the third member of Blackpink to release solo music
  • Manoban is reportedly the richest Blackpink member
  • In August, Blackpink will release a movie in celebration of their fifth anniversary

After Jennie Kim and Rose, Lisa Manoban is all set to be the next Blackpink member to release a solo debut.

A statement by YG Entertainment said, "Lisa will film the music video for her new song this week. She will be making her solo debut this summer," Soompi reported.

Last year, YG entertainment confirmed every Blackpink member will release their solo music in the following order: Rose (Roseanne Park), Lisa and Jisoo (Kim Ji Soo). The announcement came after Jennie became the first member to release her single named "Solo" in the year 2018.

In March this year, New Zealand-born Rose unveiled her first album, titled “R,” which contained tracks such as “On the Ground” and “Gone.” The album is said to have received 400,000 pre-orders within four days after its announcement, South China Morning Post had reported.

Blackpink debuted in 2016 and since then, the four-member girl group has released a variety of hits including “Let’s kill this love” and “How you Like that?”

The group made it big in October 2020 with a Netflix documentary titled “Blackpink: Light Up the Sky,” which gave fans a closer look at the group’s members. Blackpink also released a full album in October, titled “The Album.”

Next month, Blackpink is releasing a movie as part of their fifth anniversary plan, “4+1 project,” as the group celebrates their debut on Aug. 8. Blackpink's debut album "Square One" came out on Aug. 8, 2016, and contained hits such as “Whistle” and “Boombayah.”

Combining their charms and fierce singing and dancing capabilities, the group’s offerings quickly climbed the charts, especially with the tracks, “As if it’s your last”, “Let’s kill this love” and “How you like that?” Last year, they also collaborated with Selena Gomez for the hit, “Ice Cream.”

In the personal front, Manoban is reportedly the richest member of Blackpink with a $10 million net worth due to her already affluent background and various endorsement deals with luxury brands, MAC, Celine and Bulgari. SCMP said she spends her money on luxury handbags and on dinner deliveries for her bandmates.
