Alan Ritchson as Arthur
A wounded Arthur (Alan Ritchson) hallucinates in a sneak peek from Season 1, episode 9 of “Blood Drive.” Syfy

Grace (Christina Ochoa) finds a Chinese restaurant in the middle of the desert in a sneak peek from Season 1, episode 9 of “Blood Drive.”

With no hospital in sight, Grace decides to take her injured partner, Arthur (Alan Ritchson), inside the restaurant, hoping that there’s someone in there who could treat his gunshot wound. As soon as the pair enters the eatery, Grace starts to ask for help, but the establishment’s customers do not seem to care at all that he is injured. A waitress tells Grace that they can stitch Arthur up, but they have to order something first.

Upset by what she heard, Grace takes some money from Arthur’s pocket and tells the waitress: “Just take that and call it even.”

The waitress, however, insists that they should order first. “If I break the rules for you, I have to break the rules for everybody,” argues the waitress.

Grace gives in and says, “Fine, just give us the special.”

As Grace reaches to the first aid kit, the waitress gives Arthur a spoonful of their specialty soup. But it appears that the soup only worsens Arthur’s condition as the cop falls unconscious and seemingly starts to hallucinate.

Arthur wakes up in an empty restaurant. He stands up from his seat and walks into a room where he sees himself lying on a table. “Am I dead?” he asks himself.

“It’s up to you,” Aki (Marama Corlett) replies.

Apparently, Aki isn’t the only familiar face Arthur sees in his hallucination. In the trailer for episode 9, Arthur is also reunited with his police officer friend, Christopher (Thomas Dominique). But the reunion between the two isn’t a happy one as Christopher brutally tries to take the bullet out of Arthur’s abdomen using a huge pair of pliers.

Elsewhere in next week’s episode, as revealed in the synopsis for the hour, Grace’s martial arts skill is tested when she finds herself at odds with the waitress who appears to have a mastery of Kung Fu. In the trailer, the waitress manages to dodge each of Grace’s attacks, leaving the racer in a very dangerous position.

“Blood Drive” Season 1, episode 9, titled “The Chopsocky Special,” airs on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 10 p.m. EDT on Syfy.
