Liam holds the power to keep his father from buying the space where the Spectra building he helped burn down once stood. Now, he will use it to blackmail his father by threatening to expose his crimes if he doesn't cooperate with him on the Thursday, Sept. 7 episode of "The Bold and the Beautiful."

Liam (Scott Clifton) has previously considered telling the police about Bill (Don Diamont) ordering the fire at Spectra, which he had hoped would collapse so he could buy the space of the old building and build his own skyscraper on the CBS soap. Liam has so far not gone to the police, but did interrupt Bill's plan to close a deal with CJ (Mick Cain) for the building, where he warned his father he wouldn't let him scam th Spectra family out of their business. Bill threatened to fire his son if he stood in his way, and now, Liam will hit back, ordering his father to instead step down as the head of Spencer Publications and let him run things instead.

"You are dangerous. You cannot be trusted," Liam says in a preview clip. "So step down, take a leave of absence, and I'll take it from here."

Bill will initially call his son crazy for thinking he would even consider giving up his power as the CEO of the company, and will tell him so, maintaining that he's not going anywhere. However, Liam will then tell Bill of what he will do if he doesn't cooperate with him.

"Bold and the Beautiful"
Bill's (Don Diamont) decision to hand Spencer over to Liam (Scott Clifton) will be questioned on the Sept. 8, 2017 episode of "The Bold and the Beautiful." CBS

Liam will warn Bill that if he doesn't step down and take a leave of absence from the company, he will instead force his hand. He will tell Bill that not only will he go to the cops with what he knows about the fire, but will also threaten to expose the secret about Caroline (Linsey Godfrey), revealing that she isn't sick and dying because of it.

When Bill realizes that Liam is actually blackmailing him to take his job from him, he will express outrage over what his son is trying to do.

"I will not be blackmailed by my own son!" He bellows.

Meanwhile, Sally (Courtney Hope) is still coming to terms with the fact that she doesn't seem to have a future as a designer any longer, since all of her designs were destroyed in the fire and there was no insurance on the building for the company to rebuild and start fresh. As she prepares for a more uncertain future, she will head to Forrester to talk to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). While there, she will apologize to the woman who was previously her biggest enemy and admit that she regrets everything she did to cause her any strife—including initially stealing Forrester designs, and also being part of the reason Thomas (Pierson Fode) left his family's company to work for Spectra.

"I'm sorry for all the trouble that I caused you," she says in the clip.
