Manny Pacquiao is someone who could care less even if the odds are against him.

For the 42-year-old, it will always be about preserving the integrity of professional boxing and wanting a real fight.

Like most pugilists in the world, the eight-division champion has taken notice of the odd fight scenarios featuring pro and neophyte boxers.

A clear example of the Filipino boxing icon is the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Logan Paul fight.

As most know by now, that fight was pretty controversial. Considering Mayweather was undefeated but retired, the odds were undoubtedly in his favor.

However, the YouTuber was able to go the distance. This raised howls with some believing the fight was rigged.

Some suggest that it was all about the money. Would Pacquiao do the same? Here was his take when he appeared in a radio program in the Philippines.

“I’m not like other boxers who fight only for the money. They will challenge non-boxers just for the money,” Pacquiao made clear. “As for me, I want a real fight. I fight to challenge the best.”

Although Pacquiao did not mention the name of Mayweather, it seems obvious who he was referring to.

It appears to be his response to Mayweather’s swipe at the Filipino boxer who said it was saddening to see the "Pac-Man" still fighting at his age to keep himself financially afloat.

“When I come and do an exhibition and come out boxing and have some fun, I do it cause I want to do it, not cause I have to do it,” Mayweather stated.

Pacquiao is set to face Errol Spence Jr. in August in what could be one of his last fights in the boxing ring.

But as mentioned in a previous post, this could be in for a delay.

Paradigm Sports Management is suing Pacquiao for a breach of contract, seeking $3.3 million and an injunction on the Pacquiao vs. Spence fight.

As of this writing, there is no telling if this monkey wrench thrown by Paradigm Sports will hinder the scheduled Pacquiao vs. Spence showdown from happening.

Time is not on the Filipino's side, not only because of his age but due to political plans with suggestions that he will run for the presidency in 2022.
