A boy in India ended his life after he accidentally discovered that his minor sister was allegedly raped by their father, police said.

The unidentified boy from Jalore, a city in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, came across an audio clip revealing the horrific details of his sister's rape Saturday. In a 32-minute-long audio message that went viral on social media, the victim narrated to her aunt the abuse she had to face from her father. The boy was shocked to learn about his sister's plight and jumped into a canal Saturday, reported The Times of India.

When the police came to know about the viral video, they went to the victim's house to investigate the matter and discovered her brother's tragic death. The police have initiated efforts to nab the girl's father who fled from the city after the audio went viral.

In the audio clip, the girl tells her aunt that on one occasion, her father took her in his car on the pretext of buying her a mobile phone and raped her. The girl said her mother had insisted to take her brother along with them that day but her father refused to listen, Outlook India reported. However, it is unclear from the clip the exact day when the alleged assault happened.

The girl's aunt can be heard in the audio clip advising the girl to sleep with her grandmother when she complains her father made sexual advances while she was asleep. The girl says her father neither allows her to go out or speak to anyone in the family.

According to the clip, the girl's mother scolded her for shouting at her father after he made sexual advances. She also says she is helpless and wishes that her father dies so she can escape from the assault.

"We have been investigating the matter and recording the statements of the girl," Praveen Kumar, an investigating officer said.
