The next big super fight in the UFC is set as Brock Lesnar will take on two-division champion Daniel Cormier for the heavyweight title.

Cormier (21-1-1) made history when he became just the second fighter after Conor McGregor to simultaneously hold two titles at once, following his first round knockout of Stipe Miocic in their UFC 226 clash on Saturday to become the heavyweight champion.

In doing so, "DC" not only cemented his legacy as one of the greatest fighters of all time, but will now receive the biggest payday of his professional career as he called out and challenged former UFC cash cow Lesnar as scenes during the post-fight went viral on social media.

UFC president Dana White later confirmed that the fight would be next as while many may have preferred to see Lesnar face Jon Jones, a bout with Cormier is the next best thing, especially as the duo's trash talking has already further increased intrigue.

One of the major questions now is, who would win the contest?

Lesnar (5-3-1) became the heavyweight champion in just his fourth professional fight when he defeated Randy Couture in 2008 and used his wrestling prowess to emerge victorious against the likes of Frank Mir, Shane Carwin and Mark Hunt.

Cormier is also an elite wrestler, notably an Olympian, while he also boasts superior striking to the WWE Universal champion. However, he holds a significant size and reach disadvantage against Lesnar.

That did not stop him against Miocic, regarded as the greatest heavyweight champion of all time, and the fact that Cormier is more active than Lesnar, at least in the octagon, means bookmakers favor the Lafayette native in this super fight.

As per BetDSI, Cormier is currently a -260 favorite while Lesnar is a +200 underdog. Another key factor why the odds are like that could be Lesnar's last fight.

The Minnesota native returned for a one-off fight at UFC 200 in the summer of 2016 where he defeated Hunt via unanimous decision. However, he would later fail drug tests for clomiphene and not only had his win overturned but was suspended for one year by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. If he defeated Hunt with the help of performance enhancing drugs, he will likely not have them against Cormier.

This leads to another question — when can this fight realistically happen?

Before the events on the night, there were reports that Lesnar would face the winner of Miocic vs. Cormier at New York's Madison Square Garden in November.

However, the 40-year-old still has to serve his remaining six months in the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency testing pool, as he retired from mixed martial arts action last year which froze his suspension. White though, confirmed the process of re-entering it began last week and expects him to be ready for action in January 2019 at the very earliest.

"So the process has started. They started the process last week," White said at the post-fight press conference. "I don't know where they are on the process, but he's going to pop up on the board here soon. Monday or Tuesday, I don't know. I don't know where they are in the process."

So in conclusion, this fight is still some time away and with Lesnar's WWE contract likely requiring him to take part at Wrestlemania, traditionally scheduled toward the end of March, there is some uncertainty as to when it could take place.

The earliest though, is January and if things go right, it could headline UFC 233 which should take place that month.
