Four people died and ten were injured after a fire broke out at a home in the Midwood section of Brooklyn in the wee hours Monday.

The victims include a 40-year-old woman and three of her children — an 11-year-old boy, a 7-year-old boy, and a 3-year-old girl. Their identity is not yet known.

The fire engulfed a two-and-a-half story home at 1945 East 14th Street in Sheepshead Bay around 2:30 a.m. EST, according to a report in NBC New York.

According to reports, two of the injured are in critical condition. Eight others, including five firefighters, suffered minor injuries.

Reports said the victims jumped out of the windows to save their lives by the time firefighters reached the place to put out the blaze.

According to the firefighters, the second floor was completely engulfed by the fire and it took almost two hours for 80 firefighters to control it.

According to the New York Post, an eyewitness witness said, “It was huge, it was unbelievable, and the father was standing in front of the house. He was covered in black. He was more than upset.”

Firefighters did not reveal the cause of the fire.
